Ah, a three-day weekend! I have resisted the urge to schedule in some sort of social event for this weekend so that I can concentrate on getting some much needed cleaning and organization done. Of course, there will be some cooking – I am going to make a lasagna that I made once before – it’s a bit time consuming because I make my own Alfredo sauce, but so worth it!
A couple of years ago, my husband and I initiated a monthly date night on the day anniversary of our wedding (we were married on the 16th, so it’s the 16th of every month). The 16th was last night, so we had our night out for the weekend.
What are you doing this weekend?
As usual, here is a round up of my posts from the week, and some links to some relevant sites I came across:
Monday Musings – how the “naturally disorganized” get a bad rap.
Using a smartphone to make your life as a working parent easier.
My favorite “out of a box” meal – Rotisserie Chicken and all the sides.
What I bookmarked this week:
- So, DH and I have gotten into a rut on date night – it usually consists of going to one of our usual eating establishments and having some food and a couple of drinks. I will say, when we started, we decided to go through the whole sushi menu a couple rolls at a time at our favorite Asian restaurant, but we finished that last year. So, I found this list of ideas for date night, and I’m hoping to use a few to change up our routine. (The Nest)
- I *so* prefer rotisserie chicken to KFC, but I had to giggle at their new commercial.
- There are lots of ideas for using leftover rotisserie chicken out there (just Google it), and most of them are pretty obvious, but I did like this list with the emphasis on cooking for and with kids. (Cooking For Kids)
- So, you probably already saw this post when it when viral on FB and Twitter, but I thought it was relevant to my topic about smartphones this week. I thought it was great, wish I had written it. (Real Life Parenting)
