Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you have some nice Valentine’s plans. My valentine and I are going to a comedy show tonight. I’m not really into this “Hallmark” holiday, so it’s the perfect outing for me. I am hoping to leave my troubles behind and have a few drinks and a few laughs (if the snow doesn’t cancel it). Sigh. In addition to my recent health news, a member of our family died as a result of a tragic accident. He wasn’t actually a blood relative, but he was like my brother’s “brother from another mother”, and he may as well have been one of my siblings when I was growing up. But, I’m not the only one who felt that way about Pat – I bet everyone who was his friend felt that he was another member of their family. He was a special guy, and he’s gone way too soon, and that has made me very sad this week.
Ok, sorry I had to share that – didn’t mean to bring anyone else down, but I wanted to let you know why it’s not easy for me to write about hearts and flowers when my heart is breaking. I will leave it at that, though, because Pat would not have wanted anyone to feel sad, not for a minute.
So, it hasn’t stopped snowing, and they are predicting another blizzard. We’ve surpassed all sorts of records. I have a leak in my roof, but Chuck was able to put some heat tape on the ice so it stopped – looks like there will have to be some ceiling painting in the future.
As usual, here is a round up of what I posted this week, and a few sites that I bookmarked:
How are you doing with your New Years Resolutions? Goals?
Here’s an idea for filing your bills. You could have this set up this weekend and start this February!
How about Haddock Provencal for a special Valentine’s Day dinner? It is fancy enough to serve for such an occasion, but super easy too!

Did you see this segment on the Today show with Carson Daly simulating what its like trying to prepare a meal for Valentines day with kids, and interruptions, and work, etc. Bonus: a couple recipes.
Do you wonder how long you should keep certain paperwork, bills, or documents? This website has a handy list and some good filing tips.
As I mentioned in my Monday Musings post this week – I frequently have to report on project status, and we use the red/yellow/green traffic light profusely, but as I was looking on line for some examples, I found this article on using the weather as a more accurate description of project status.
