Today marks a year of “Working Mom 2 Three”.
It has been quite a year.
I started this blog with a certain vision – I wanted to share my challenges with being “naturally disorganized” and also just ways of coping as a working mother of three children. I was sure that there were other parents out there that would share my crazy kind of life. They’d be able to nod their heads in agreement when I described the situations of juggling parenthood, a career, and a home. My vision included these parents commenting and adding their experiences to the blog – IMO, that’s what makes a blog successful – a community coming together to share and learn from each other.
My plans for posting 2-3x a week got derailed early. I know that is partly to blame for not getting a real following going. It couldn’t be helped. The fact is that real life got in the way, and that’s what this blog is all about in the end. I’m not sure if I would have been able to keep up with 2-3x a week anyway. I was counting on feedback to help provide ideas for content.
As I organized my notes for this anniversary posts, I realized that the date of my introductory post last year was the same date as my mammogram. Two things started that day that would put my life on a different trajectory. I am reflecting on the positives of both, grateful for early detection and high-quality medical care, and pleased that I have had an outlet for my creative side.
Thank you for reading this past year. If you took away even one tip or recipe or thought “I’m not the only one!”, then it was worth it to me.

I have a confession to make – it wasn’t until after reading your blog for 9 months that I figured out you authored it. I thought it was a friend’s blog that you were sharing, and I’d browse through every update but never comment. It’s embarrassing, but I’m going to blame it on my busy, disorganized life with 3 children. Anyway, I’d flagged your meal-planning posts and am going to kick off my new year following your methodologies to tackle the chore I hate most. Happy new year!
