I am so ready to be done with 2016!
This year has been a crappy year for many reasons – which is saying a lot seeing as 2015 was all about being treated for breast cancer. I am usually a glass-half-full person, so I want to believe 2017 will be better. I *will* get a job, so that will be an improvement. And, even though the presidency will be a huge blow, I’m not sure if it can equate to the actual loss of the election. I’m sure 2017 will also have its share of celebrity losses, but it’s hard to think of a loss that would make me as sad as the loss of Prince. I still get melancholy when I hear “Let’s Go Crazy”.
If you read my new years post last year, you know that I’m all about setting the goals. It’s worth another read, and you can find it here. One of the most important parts is the review – how did you do against your 2016 goals? I had a wrench thrown in mine, so I had to have a major revision mid-year, but that’s OK. You don’t have a crystal ball. You don’t know what is going to happen next week or even tomorrow. The important part is that you revisit and revise the goals, and move on.
One of my minor goals was to keep a jar where I put a note of any good things that happened along the year. Then we shared them on new years eve. It was great to look back on all of the fun, positive, things that happened. I missed a lot too, but the kids and friends were able to add to the list – and isn’t that the whole point? To try to not dwell on all the negativity of 2016, but remember the good.
I hope you had a happy and healthy holiday season, and I wish you a stupendous new year!
